Our school board is dedicated to fostering an environment where every student can achieve academic excellence and personal growth in a safe and supportive setting.

As elected representatives of our community, we are committed to making informed decisions that shape the future of our schools. Our responsibilities include:

  • Policy Development: Crafting and implementing policies that promote high educational standards and equity.
  • Budget Oversight: Ensuring that financial resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to support student learning and well-being.
  • Superintendent Supervision: Collaborating with and providing oversight for the Superintendent to ensure the district's strategic goals are met.
  • Curriculum and Instruction: Evaluating and approving curricula that meet the diverse needs of our students and prepare them for future success.
  • Facilities Management: Overseeing the maintenance and improvement of school facilities to provide a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Community Engagement: Encouraging active participation from parents, students, teachers, and community members to foster a collaborative educational community.

In Person: Meetings are held at the PCS Central Office located at 101 W. Love St, Troy, AL, in the Board Room unless otherwise noted on the calendar.

Meet the Board Members

  • Earnest Green was born in Troy, AL and has been a native for 51 years. Mr. Green is a 1976 graduate of Goshen High School in Goshen, AL. He continued his education at Stamford Christian School in Birmingham, AL after his ordination as a Baptist Minister.

    Mr. Green is a very active person in his community and surrounding areas, where he served as pastor for the Bougahoma Missionary Baptist Church in Gordanville, AL for 18 years. Mr Green serves as the Treasurer for the Meeksville Volunteer Fire Department, Chaplain for the Hospice Advantage, Manager for Harrison Funeral Home LLC, and Sunday School teacher for his church. Mr. Green is also a member of the Goshen Sports Booster Club, Goshen Basketball Parent Support team, Goshen PTO, and the Old Alabama District Association for Southeast Baptist Church.

    Mr. Green is a member of the Old Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Green’s children are Renardo, Reshase, and Denzil. Mr. Green also has 4 grandchildren.

    Greg currently represents District 2 which includes a majority of the City of Troy. He has served on the Board of Education for 15 years.  In 2016, Greg was elected as the district president for AASB district 3.  He has previously served on the finance and business committees of AASB.

    Greg is the Chief Technology and Security officer for Troy University and the Director of the Alabama Computer Forensics Institute. In 2002, Greg founded the first regional digital forensics lab in the nation with the U.S. Department of Justice. Greg developed the Cyberkids Awareness Program for the Alabama Attorney General's Office. He has authored five books on information technology, served as a member of many CyberSecurity task forces, holds two technology patents, and is a frequent speaker at security conferences. Greg is an advocate of child protection programs and participates in a number of child advocacy councils.

    He serves on the board of several captive insurance companies.

    Greg has been married to his wife, Amy, for 18 years. They have three children.

  • Mr. Scott Hartley grew up in Lakeland, Florida. In 2005, he moved with his family to Troy, AL. He opened his own business, Town & Country Flooring Center, LLC. In 2022, his business relocated to a new location and became Town & Country Home Center, LLC. 

    Mr. Hartley is married to Lana. Mr. Hartley and his wife have 3 wonderful children: Daniel, Rebecca, and Chase.

    Mr. Hartley has been a member of Southside Baptist Church since 2005, where he serves on various committees, including the Deacon Board. 

    Mr. Hartley has been a member of the Troy Rotary Club since 2006.  He served on the Board of Directors for 3 years and 1 year as President.

    Mr. Hartley has also been a member of the Troy University Alumni Board since 2018.

  • Mrs. Catherine Keck is from Troy and graduated from Charles Henderson High School in 1992. In 1996, she received her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Troy State University.

    In 1998, she went on to receive her Master’s in Early Childhood Education.

    Mrs. Keck taught at Pike County Elementary School for 15 years. She is now works at Troy University, where she serves as the Elementary Program Coordinator and a lecturer.

  • Dr. Clint Foster represents District 5 in Pike County.

    Dr. Foster is a 1989 graduate of Pike County High School and was a member of the first State Championship football team. His education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Health from Troy University, a Master of Science in General Science from Troy University, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Auburn University.

    Dr. Foster is an avid proponent for students comprehending STEM subjects (sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Most of his research examines the attitudes and perceptions of students toward science and other STEM subjects. He has taught biological and environmental science subjects and coached several sports at the secondary level. Presently, he is employed with the Alabama Community College System and works out of offices in Mobile and Montgomery.

    Dr. Foster is a member of several organizations and is an active member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Banks, Alabama. He has four children.

  • Mrs. Amanda Hughes represents District 6 on the Pike County Board of Education.

    Mrs. Hughes has been married to her husband, Michael Hughes, for 22 years. They have 4 children: Gus Henry, married to Brayton; Jacob Fox, married to Kalyn, Sidney, and Sawyer. Mrs. Hughes has two grandchildren, Walker Fox and Hadlee Ruth.

    Mrs. Hughes is a member of Fleetwood Baptist Church, where she serves as treasurer.

    Mrs. Hughes is a 1994 graduate of Luverne High School. She graduated from Troy State University in 2002 with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and was in the classroom for 15 years.
